SOULFLY have recruited PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS Guitarist MIKE DELEON to their ranks

The Max Cavalera-fronted band announced the addition of DeLeon to the group in a social media post yesterday (Thursday, January 5), which featured a picture of Max and drummer Zyon Cavalera alongside Mike, which included the following caption: “Welcome Mike DeLeon, to the SOULFLY Tribe!”

DeLeon had previously worked in PANTERA singer Phil Anselmo‘s solo band PHILIP H. ANSELMO & THE ILLEGALS, joining that act in 2015 following the departure of shredder Marzi Montazeri. He also filled in for Zakk Wylde at the first PANTERA rehearsal for the semi-reunited band’s fall 2022 shows.

SOULFLY parted ways with longtime guitarist Marc Rizzo back in August of 2021. FEAR FACTORY‘s Dino Cazares stepped in to play guitar for the band’s latest run of performances.

SOULFLY are set to hit the road once again for a massive U.S. tour later this month. The 57-date jaunt will run from late January to early April, and will feature support from BODYBOX, HALF HEARD VOICES, DRIFT and SKINFLINT.
