Wolfgang Van Halen honors “Eruption” on it’s anniversary and says work begins on new MAMMOTH WVH album “next week”

September 8, 2022 marks the 45th anniversary of the classic VAN HALEN track “Eruption“, which was celebrated by Wolfgang Van Halen in a new video he posted to social media.

Van Halen wrote along with the clip, “In honor of ‘Eruption‘ being recorded 45 years ago today, here’s me playing part of it on the guitar. It was recorded on in 2015 while tracking some guitars for the first @MammothWVH album.”

Wolfgang also mentioned his father, Eddie Van Halen, who was the creator of the musical piece which first appeared on VAN HALEN‘s 1978 debut album, by finishing his post with “Love you, Pop.”

In other news, Wolfgang is set to commence work on the second MAMMOTH WVH album next week. The record will be the follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut album which arrived in June 2021.

Wolfgang revealed the timeline for the second MAMMOTH WVH LP while answering questions from fans on Twitter. After one fan said “give us the MAMMOTH follow up album asap”, Wolfgang responded: “I start next week!”

MAMMOTH WVH‘s debut album was released via Explorer1 Music Group/EX1 Records.
