RUSH took the stage at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles last night for the second tribute show dedicated to late FOO FIGHTERS drummer Taylor Hawkins

The three-song set saw Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson joined by Dave Grohl for “2112 Part I: Overture“, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith on the song “Working Man” and TOOL drummer Danny Carey for RUSH‘s iconic instrumental “YYZ“. You can check out fan-filmed footage of the performance below.

RUSH were introduced by comedian/actor/musician Jack Black, who recalled stories of his two encounters with Taylor Hawkins, which both happen to have taken place at The Forum.

Jack relayed his experience at Dave Grohl‘s 2015 star-studded birthday concert, which saw FOO FIGHTERS joined onstage by the likes of MOTORHEAD‘s Lemmy Kilmister , VAN HALEN frontman David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper and GUNS N’ ROSES guitarist Slash, among others. Black also recalled attending RUSH‘s final tour date at the venue, marking the second time he came face to face with Hawkins.

“He wasn’t blowing minds,” says Black. “He was in the audience, just like you. And he was watching one of the best fucking shows of all time. You know what I’m talking about? They’re about to come out right now. It is my honor to introduce one of Taylor’s favorite bands, of all time. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up… for Rush!”

Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson took the stage at Wembley Stadium earlier this month for the first Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert which saw the late Neil Peart‘s place behind the drum kit filled by Grohl, who played on “2112 Part I: Overture” and “Working Man“, as well as Omar Hakim, who played on “YYZ“.

The Taylor Hawkins tribute show from Wembley Stadium in London, is available to watch on-demand on Paramount+.
