Metalcore vocalist Tim Lambesis has confirmed that new material is currently in the works from AS I LAY DYING as well as his Arnold Schwarzenegger parodying metal band AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE
Posting to his social media yesterday (February 6), Lambesis wrote: Grueling winter here in San Diego 😂 I hope you guys in the rest of the world have been enduring this season well.
A little update… I’m back on my bike and working on new songs for the next AILD record. I also have a very exciting @bornthroughfire announcement coming in a couple weeks! Can’t wait to share it!
I need to finish those first, but I also have an @austriandeathmachineofficial song already finished featuring @craiggolias and @_coryw too! I’ve been getting a lot of questions about the return 💪🏼🎸
The 42-year-old Lambesis was paroled in 2016 after serving two years of a six-year sentence as a result of pleading guilty in February 2014 to hiring a hitman to kill his then wife.
His then-wife Meggan had filed for divorce in 2012, citing “irreconcilable differences.” The couple has three children, all of whom were adopted from Ethiopia.
In June 2018, AS I LAY DYING performed their first show with Lambesis in five years and released a new single.
Last year, AS I LAY DYING completed the U.S. and European legs of their 2022 tour. The run marked the band’s first with its new touring lineup, featuring Lambesis and longtime guitarist Phil Sgrosso alongside drummer Nick Pierce (ex-UNEARTH), bassist/vocalist Ryan Neff (MISS MAY I) and guitarist Ken Susi (UNEARTH).
