Canadian alternative metal act SPIRITBOX commenced their North American headlining tour last night (April 10th) in Vancouver, BC

The concert saw SPIRITBOX debut a new original song titled “The Void“ as well as a blistering cover of the 2001 NO DOUBT song “Hella Good”. The band were also joined by ANGELMAKER‘s Johnny Ciardullo for the performance of “Holy Roller“. You can check out fan-filmed footage from the show below.

SPIRITBOX vocalist Courtney LaPlante revealed back in the fall that the band had already begun work on new material, which should hopefully arrive at some point in 2023.

SPIRITBOX recently announced that they would not be moving ahead with their recently revealed U.S. dates with FALLING IN REVERSE, ICE NINE KILLS and more.

The group’s decision to not join the run of dates came after a wave of public uproar that has been directed at several of the opening bands announced for the tour.

The news wasn’t too surprising among SPIRITBOX fans with the group deleting all mention of their involvement with the tour on their social media late last week. This came shortly after a number of comments made on social media which saw some fans opposing the prospect of ICE NINE KILLS, UNDEROATH and SPIRITBOX hitting the road with FALLING IN REVERSE.

The main issue seemed to be with FALLING IN REVERSE frontman Ronnie Radke, given his past allegedly problematic behavior and apparent opinions. CROWN THE EMPIRE‘s involvement in the upcoming tour also caused a controversial backlash, despite the band adamantly denying the abuse allegations made against their guitarist/vocalist Brandon Hoover.

In a brief statement issued on March 13th, the band wrote: “We have withdrawn from the 6 shows we were scheduled to perform on the Popular Monstour.”

SPIRITBOX were booked to appear on the run from July 22nd through to July 30th.

The band have Australian dates lined up later this month, with a North American tour in April and May before they head off to Europe for shows leading into the summer. You can get all the band’s tour info at this location.
