Albuquerque, New Mexico’s mayor Tim Keller showed up, like a great many Americans did, to cast his ballot in the U.S. presidential election yesterday.  And he did it all while proudly donning a MACHINE HEAD Hoodie.

Now why is this news?  I mean, we all have band hoodies right?  Just because this guy’s job happens to be “mayor”, it makes the news because he digs metal.  But the cool thing about this dude is despite what his job title may be, if it’s a little chilly out, a hoodie is in in order.  His just happens to sport the MACHINE HEAD name and logo on it.

So anyways, yesterday (Tuesday, November 3), Keller tweeted out several photos of him at his local voting center in Bernalillo County, along with the caption: “Vote”.

Soon after, MACHINE HEAD frontman Robb Flynn retweeted Keller’s post and wrote: “Shout out to Mayor Tim Keller of Albuquerque for flying the MH colors while voting!!”

Keller is a proud metalhead and is known to be one as last December he was seen sporting a PANTERA Christmas sweater for a signing of a bill granting family paid parental leave to city employees. He has also been seen attending metal shows in the city. Even bringing some notable metal bands on stage like ANTHRAX and TRIVIUM.

Now as for the metalhead mayor’s favorite metal band? Keller told the Albuquerque Journal that his favorite group is SEPULTURA, calling them “the music of empowerment.”

Cool mayor.
