Keanu Reeves’s 1990s and early 2000s rock group DOGSTAR have reunited and are currently working on new music after 23 years
DOGSTAR initially announced their return via an Instagram post from last summer. Since then, the band have been posting regular updates on the status of their creating new music.
DOGSTAR‘s new material will be the group’s first new collection of music since their 2000 album “Happy Ending“.
In the group’s latest social media post, Keanu Reeves and the rest of DOGSTAR confirm that they will commence the writing and recording of some new music this summer.
“Thank you everyone for the kind comments. We are overjoyed to see such a response,” the band writes in the post. “Honestly, didn’t expect this. It makes us want to play out even more.
“We will be rolling out some new music this summer, followed by some gigs. As soon as it’s all figured out we will let everyone know immediately. So much to do, but rest assured, we are on it and have assembled a fantastic team that are helping us. We are also going to make a music video to support our first tune. That’s all I can say now.
“Can’t wait to share our new music with everyone. It’s the most satisfying and meaningful batch of songs we’ve ever done. Thanks again for being so patient with us. We truly have the best, most loyal fans!”
DOGSTAR formed back in 1991, and went on to release two studio albums. Keanu acted as the band’s bassist, however his rising acting career eventually led to the group’s disbanding in 2002. Reeves later played with DOGSTAR drummer, co-founder and actor Robert Mailhouse in the band BECKY, yet left that project after a years time.
