In an exciting development, IN FLAMES has officially bid farewell to bassist Bryce Paul and has announced Liam Wilson from THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN as his replacement. This news was shared today (Thursday, June 8) through IN FLAMES‘ social media channels. The band expressed their gratitude towards Bryce Paul for his contributions over the past several years and wished him the best for his future endeavors. They warmly welcomed Liam Wilson into the fold, acknowledging his talent and friendship, as he joins them on their musical journey.

The talented Liam Wilson made his debut performance with IN FLAMES on Wednesday, June 7 at the renowned Release Athens 2023 festival held in Athens, Greece. Fans were thrilled to witness this monumental moment, and footage from the concert can be viewed below, capturing the electrifying energy of the show.

IN FLAMES‘ most recent album, titled “Foregone,” was released on February 10 under the Nuclear Blast label. The press release describes the LP as a fusion of the band’s greatest aggressive, metallic, and melodic strengths from their landmark records, infused with the seasoned songwriting of their postmodern era.

The album marked the second collaboration between IN FLAMES and Bryce Paul, as well as drummer Tanner Wayne, the first with former MEGADETH guitarist Chris Broderick, and the third with Grammy-winning producer Howard Benson (known for his work with MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and THREE DAYS GRACE). The recording process took place at Howard Benson‘s West Valley Recording Studios, engineered by Mike Plotnikoff (ALL THAT REMAINS, WARBRINGER), while mixing duties were expertly handled by Joe Rickard (known for his work with 10 YEARS, STARSET, and DIAMANTE), who served as the band’s drummer from 2016 to 2019.

Overall, IN FLAMES continues to make significant strides in their musical journey, embracing new talent and pushing their creative boundaries. With the addition of Liam Wilson to their lineup, fans can expect the band to embark on an exciting new chapter, building upon the success of “Foregone” and captivating audiences worldwide with their unique blend of aggressive and melodic metal.
