Co-founding NAZARETH member Dan McCafferty has passed away
NAZARETH bassist Pete Agnew confirmed McCafferty‘s passing in a statement earlier today.
The statement reads: “Dan died at 12:40 today.
“This is the saddest announcement I ever had to make. Maryann and the family have lost a wonderful loving husband and father, I have lost my best friend and the world has lost one of the greatest singers who ever lived.
“Too upset to say anything more at this time.”
McCafferty is known for having one of the most unique voices in rock, influencing such notable musicians as GUNS N’ ROSES singer Axl Rose among countless others.
After nearly fifty years of NAZARETH, Dan retired from live performing due to health reasons.
McCafferty released his first ever solo album, “Last Testament” in October 2019.
