In May of this year, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM encountered an unfortunate situation as they had to cancel their scheduled European tour. The reason behind this decision was the unexpectedly high costs linked to post-pandemic touring.
Since then, the band has been diligently occupied, dedicating the last few months to crafting new material for their highly anticipated 15th album.
Once again, the mixing and mastering of “Blood In The Water” were skillfully handled by Jacob Hansen, known for his exceptional work with bands like U.D.O., VOLBEAT, AMARANTHE, and POWERWOLF.
A remarkable 37 years have passed since FLOTSAM AND JETSAM first formed in Phoenix, Arizona, and they made a significant impact with their landmark debut album, “Doomsday For The Deceiver.” Notably, this record received a rare 6K rating from the influential British magazine Kerrang! During their journey, bassist Jason Newsted would depart to join METALLICA, while the band released “No Place For Disgrace” in 1988. Following that, “Cuatro” (1992), “Drift” (1995), “High” (1997), and “My God” (2001) all achieved enduring admiration within heavy metal circles.
However, a certain rejuvenation and reset became evident with the release of the self-titled “Flotsam And Jetsam” in 2016, marking the first part of an unofficial trilogy. This momentum continued with the powerful 2019 successor, “The End Of Chaos,” solidifying their position as a force to be reckoned with in the heavy metal world.
