FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer comments on Tommy Lee’s recent nude pic
In a recent interview with iHeartRadio Canada, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH singer Ivan Moody was asked if he contacted Tommy Lee after the MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer posted a nude photo to his Instagram last week. Ivan responded: “No, I didn’t, because in this day and age you kind of expect it from Tommy, as sad as that may or not be able to say. But the reality of it is it looks like the guy just got done rubbing one out. Nobody’s that well hung. So good for you, Tommy.”
Instagram and Facebook removed the photo of the nude 59 year old drummer soon after it was posted.
That being said, the image, which featured Tommy sitting on the edge of a tub completely naked, was up for at least four hours, which has led to an outcry against social media companies for applying what critics say is a double standard in platform guidelines that favor cisgender men.
According to CNN, (via BLABBERMOUTH.NET) one user commented that Lee’s penis picture “was on Instagram for 5+ hours before being pulled yet queer artists get banned all the time for art that doesn’t even show genitalia.”
“Girls can’t post photos with cleavage on Instagram without it being taken down but Tommy Lee can post THAT. nah,” another wrote.
Another individual commented: “@instagram literally has the clearest double standard among their community guidelines.”
A large number of Lee’s 1.5 million Instagram followers called him out for sharing the image in the comments of the controversial post.
“following tommy lee on instagram is interesting enough but i- sigh. that was traumatizing. how is it still up,” wrote one follower who posted a meme of a person washing their eyes out with bleach.
“So Tommy Lee can post a picture of his penis on @instagram that’s still up three hours later but a picture of my curvy booty in a thong bikini gets taken down? Cool, cool,” tweeted journalist Lola Méndez. She also compared seeing Tommy’s picture on social media to getting an unsolicited picture of a penis.
Lee’s own wife, social media influencer Brittany Furlan, commented on the post with an “OH MY GOD”.
Ok, let’s just call it what it is. A 59 year old man showed his junk on social media.
