David Lee Roth has shared a new solo version of the VAN HALEN classic “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love”

Like the previously released unheard version of “Panama“, this version of “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love” was recorded on May 3, 2022 during a session at Henson Recording Studio in Hollywood, California. Joining Dave on the track are guitarist Al Estrada on guitar, bassist Ryan Wheeler and drummer Francis Valentino. A total of 14 songs were recorded in two hours and tracked completely live without the use of samples or pitch correction.

These new versions of “Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love” and “Panama” arrive over a month since Roth shared a previously unheard solo recording from 2007 called “Nothing Could Have Stopped Us Back Then Anyway” which is an ode to the singer’s time in VAN HALEN.

David Lee Roth canceled a series of Las Vegas residency shows back in January due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Three months earlier, he had announced in an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he was planning to retire from music after the residency.
