Legendary Danish metal act MERCYFUL FATE played their first concert in 23 years on Thursday night (June 2) at the Expo Plaza in Hannover, Germany.
The performance was part of MERCYFUL FATE‘s current tour with fellow Danish rockers VOLBEAT and saw the band perform a seven-song set which included the brand new track, “The Jackal Of Salzburg“. You can check out fan-filmed footage of the song’s performance below.

We are lacking a verse and a little more. It’s not recorded yet. But let’s see if you like this. This is called ‘The Jackal Of Salzburg‘.”
Joining King Diamond in MERCYFUL FATE is Hank Shermann on guitar, Bjarne T. Holm on drums, Mike Wead on guitar and Joey Vera on bass.
